Amber Heard who plays the role of Mera in the DC Extended Universe or DCEU, posted her throwback photo on Instagram. Heard debuted in the DCEU in the 2017 theatrical version of Justice League where she played the role of Mera.

Her recent post seems to show that the actress will proceed with the role in Aquaman 2 and is doing well, despite the massive backlash she is getting due to her rift with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Heard posted on Instagram, an image of her dressed in her Mera costume while taking a nap. She captioned it with "Forgot my pyjamas."

She further expanded her character in Zack Snyder's Justice League which was released in March 2021. She was also in the Knightmare scene and had to do some additional filming for the footage.

Aquaman 2 will begin filming this summer in London with the working title Necrus. The film has also started recruiting cast members. Pilou Asbaek, who played the role of Euron Greyjoy on Game of Thrones in an undisclosed role.

Patrick Wilson who played the role of Orm is working hard to get back in shape for the sequel. Heard has been rumored to not take part in the film due to the rising backlash but her latest post is her form of celebration as the movie is set to start filming soon.
