Disney's Streaming Service Will Be Cheaper Than Netflix

There's a lot of excitement for Disney's upcoming streaming service, now that a new live-action Star Wars serial has been reported. Marvel is also expected to make a big impact as well, with rumors of Netflix shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones moving over to the unnamed service. As if that wasn't exciting enough, it was recently revealed that the service will be cheaper than Netflix.

CEO Bob Iger said that the monthly price of the 2019 streaming service would be "substantially below where Netflix is." Unfortunately, Iger did not give a price indication for this new streaming application, though most fans know that Netflix costs between $7.99 and $13.99 a month. If it can be below these prices, Disney can expect a lot of fans to become subscribers.

Fans shouldn't expect the service to stay cheap, however, as Iger said there will be plans to up the price over time. Netflix has done this recently and it's no surprise to hear this from Disney, so viewers can only hope that the content is worth paying for. Then again, with shows based on Marvel and Star Wars, Disney can expect a lot of consumers to join them before the need for a price hike.

Disney's subscription service comes out sometime in 2019.
