Disney Reportedly Refuses To Take Risks With Its Star Wars Directors From Here On Out

It looks like Disney's learned a lot from its misadventures with Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Not only is the studio reportedly putting future Star Wars spinoff's on hold, but it seems like the studio won't be taking any more risks with its Star Wars directors anymore.

Providing more details about Lucasfilm's decision to delay the standalone Star Wars movies it originally had planned, Star Wars News Net also offers additional information about the future of the Star Wars franchise.

According to SWNN, Disney was unhappy with the way Lucasfilm managed the production troubles of Solo and refused to have the film's release moved. Because of the film's poor performance, the Mickey Mouse House has decided to refine its production process.

Not only are Disney and Lucasfilm done bringing in new, rising directors to work on its new Star Wars projects, but the studios are also focusing on giving the work ton "proven veteran talent who they know can handle a big budget Star Wars production."

Well, so much for previous reports saying that Disney wasn't concerned with Solo's box office performance. It looks like the Mickey Mouse House is done playing around, closing its doors on "upcoming directors" that might include names like Ryan Coogler, Taika Waititi, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. It'd be such a shame considering that these directors offer such unique voices, but well, Disney's got to do what Disney's got to do.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently screening in cinemas.
