Dave Bautista Thinks Jared Leto’s Joker Movie Is A Good Sign For His Own Drax Standalone

DC fans might be a little bit uncertain about the idea of Jared Leto starring and producing his own Joker movie as a Suicide Squad spinoff, but to Marvel star Dave Bautista, the new development over at Warner Brother's DC Extended Universe actually might be a good sign for Drax the Destroyer.

Drax has been an easy fan-favorite ever since he debuted in the original Guardians of the Galaxy movie. He's been one of the comedic staples in James Gunn's cosmic superhero romps, appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War. He's also confirmed for Avengers 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III.

Though it seems like Drax is already doing pretty well for himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Bautista is still hoping for a Drax solo movie. Seeing Leto get his own spinoff, Bautista jokes that he might actually have a shot at having his own standalone film.

But on the bright side! Which I usually try to look at... if this can happen then the chances of me getting a Drax movie have got to be astronomically high! Like so high that I'm going to stop tweeting and sit by the phone and wait for @MarvelStudios to call! ....any second now! https://t.co/hOt1I2OJxJ

It's a pretty funny joke – though we would definitely want to see more of Drax in the MCU. Unfortunately, the future of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy seems pretty uncertain, especially when Phase 4 comes rolling in. Gunn did say he wanted a new set of Guardians for his Marvel Cosmic Universe.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas.
