The arrival of the Black Widow trailer during the early hours of Tuesday morning has left Marvel fans in a frenzy particularly with David Harbour's Red Guardian. Previous reports have already showcased positive feedback for the anticipated character and the Stranger Things actor took this as his opportunity to share his thoughts on the trailer.
Via an Instagram post, Harbour described the Red Guardian as a "Marxist Santa Claus" that is absolutely ready to "kick your ass." The entire caption of the clip reads as follows: "So. Damn. Excited. Marxist Santa Claus is coming to kick your ass in May. @florencepugh #scarlettjohansson and #rachelweisz are the dream team and helmed by the magnificent #cateshortland, I am so excited for y'all to see this."
Harbour will be joined by Scarlett Johansson as the film's titular character, in addition to Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, O-T Fagbenle as Mason, and Rachel Weisz as Melina. The film is directed by Cate Shortland and will be set following the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Black Widow will signal the beginning of Marvel Studios' Phase 4 on May 1, 2020.
