Colin Trevorrow Left Frustrated By The Spoilers In Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s Trailers

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom might be doing pretty well in cinemas, but it looks like the film's marketing campaign has left producer Colin Trevorrow a little bit frustrated and upset.

Speaking in an interview with io9, the original Jurassic World director and Fallen Kingdom producer decided to share his frustrations over the trailers that were released for the Jurassic World sequel.

The trailers for Fallen Kingdome didn't just spoil one big moment in the film, it gave away two. According to Trevorrow, he wished that footage of the T-Rex exchanging roars with a lion and a mosasaurs hunting surfers in the ocean didn't make its way to the film's promotional videos, feeling like it had given away too much to audiences.

"It was very frustrating for me," Trevorrow explained during the interview. "That's a relationship that we have with marketing [and] there are a lot of different needs. I try to be very lucid and rational about it, [but] to speak frankly, there is a very, very small percentage of people who watch all the trailers. The rest of the world might only see one."

It's pretty understandable why Trevorrow would be upset over the marketing team's decisions during Fallen Kingdom's campaign. Though those two particular scenes might not seem like much, they do give away one of the major plot points in the film – the dinosaurs have managed to escape the island and make it out into the wild.

Though Trevorrow might have wanted to keep the plot point a secret, the marketing team might have wanted to get some of the most attractive footage in the films many trailers. It isn't easy getting uninterested audience members to cinemas.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is currently screening in cinemas.
