Captain Marvel and Chaos Walking Writers to Work on Sony's Silver & Black Script

With the Venom spinoff coming out this year, Sony is also developing another Spider-Man spinoff centered on characters Black Cat and Silver Sable called Silver & Black. The movie is still in development, and it looks like the final draft of the script will be written by someone who has also worked on another female-lead movie.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking) will be teaming up with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) have been hired to pen the final draft of Silver & Black. They will be working with director Gina Prince-Bythewood, and improving on a script that has been tweaked by Chris Yost (Thor: Ragnarok) and Lisa Joy (Westworld).

I don't personally know what to expect from a Silver & Black movie, but maybe it's because I want to see first how these Spider-Man spinoffs will fare without Spider-Man. It's already odd that Venom's origin won't be connected to the character at all, but I'm hoping that Sony is just playing coy with their spinoffs being connected to the MCU.

Besides, I would love to see a Black Cat/Peter Parker romance down the line.

Silver & Black is set to come out Feb. 8, 2019.
