Captain America: Civil War Directors Tease Controversial Ending; Iron Man Character Returns

Captain America: Civil War is heading to theaters in a few months, and as most of you alraedy know, it's going to set the stage for the two-part Avengers: Infinity War films. Speaking to Empire magazine, directors Anthony and Joe Russo discussed the tonal shift of the film leading up to Infinity War. Joe said:

"The consequences of Civil War will have an even more significant impact [than The Winter Soldier]. In Civil War, we're going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Psychology, and it's an extreme shift. Winter Soldier was a political thriller; this is a psychological thriller."

That's a great way to put it: There's a lot more in stake in Civil War, and there sure will be a lot more in Infinity War, so prepare for the worst. Even Anthony promised that the film will be "very dramatic ending that will be controversial for a lot of people."

Potential SPOILERS follows: Many are saying that this is a confirmation that a majojr character will die; In the Civil War comic series, Steve Rogers dies in the hands of Crossbones, and if the film adapts that part of the story, this could be the controversial ending the Russos are referring to. Some say that Rogers will be resurrected in Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 using one of the Infinity Stones so he can help the rest of the Avengers take down Thanos.

And the Iron Man character who returns? Gwyneth Palthrow's Pepper Pots was involed in recent reshoots for the film.

Captain America: Civil War is schedule to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
