It's been over a year since Schitt's Creek last aired, and fans of the show certainly miss their favorite characters.
The hit comedy was on air for six seasons with a total of 80 episodes that centered on the Rose family.
Father and son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy were the brainchildren behind the hilarious sitcom. And they previously revealed how emotional they were after they learned that Schitt's Creek was ending.
Will there be a Schitt's Creek spinoff?
However, fans need not worry because Eugene and Dan are both open to the possibility of starring in a spinoff. In fact, they wouldn't mind appearing in another Schitt's Creek series or even a movie as long as they like the direction of the project.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Eugene said that he sees a bright future for Schitt's Creek.
"That may happen down the line. I mean, certainly, if there's any future Schitt's Creek spin-offs or movies or specials or whatever, which is a possibility," he said.
But the proud dad also knows that his son is busy with several other projects right now.
Still, Dan made it clear that he's going to get on board when the opportunity presents itself.
He also talked about the importance of allowing Schitt's Creek viewers to miss their favorite characters. This way, if new ideas come up, they will be able to explore them more.
Schitt's Creek spinoff ideas fans are dying to see
Even though a Schitt's Creek spinoff won't be in the works anytime soon, there are several ideas being thrown around online on what storylines the writers and directors could explore.
On Reddit, some fans pitched the idea of exploring Alexis Rose's (Annie Murphy) in New York.
In the finale, Alexis opted to still push through with her plan to go to New York even if this meant starting a whole new life on her own.
So, seeing how she would thrive in the Big Apple sounds like a sensible and exciting storyline.
There are also hopes to see what the Roses would be doing in the next five or ten years.
Since spinoffs typically air years after the finale, fans want to see how the writers and director would explore the lives of Johnny (Eugene Levy), David (Dan Levy), Moira Rose (Catherine O'Hara), Alexis, Stevie Budd (Emily Hampshire), and more.
