Tom Holland Expresses Frustration Over Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Cameo Rumors

Marvel Studios is ushering in the 13th year of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it still amazes me how the franchise keeps getting bigger and better with every project they release. 2021 marks the grand comeback of the MCU after an unintentional sabbatical that lasted for over 500 days. Now, Phase 4 is off to a great start with the studios' daring first series WandaVision.

Another project Marvel fans have been looking forward to is the third Spider-Man film which has now been officially titled No Way Home aka "the most ambitious superhero film of all time" according to Tom Holland. But even though cameras have started rolling for the project, we still know very little about the film but fans have been speculating that the film will be the live-action version of Spider-Verse thanks to the appearance of characters who were previously not part of the MCU.

Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina's shocking involvement in the film as Electro and Doc Ock fueled speculations that their respective adversaries Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will also be making their epic comeback. However, both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have already dismissed the reports last year.

Even Holland himself has previously debunked the said cameo rumors, claiming that if the two were in fact involved in the film, he'd be the first one to know. Now, in a new interview with Jimmy Fallon, the 24-year-old British actor has once again stated that Garfield and Maguire WILL NOT be part of Homecoming 3.

He said: "It will be a miracle if they could've kept that from me, but at the moment, there is no cameo from the two boys." Holland later admitted that he's already getting frustrated with all the secrecy that's been going on regarding the possible cameos: "Actually it gets to the point where it's frustrating. Because I feel like by now I'm a trustworthy member of the Avengers."

I don't know if I'll actually buy Holland's claims as the actor has been suspiciously addressing the cameo rumors when he could just ignore them. Something tells me that he's trying his best to play coy and not spoil anything but this time around, I'll trust my gut. No, I'm not saying I'm 100% sure but I totally believe that we'll see Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire back as Spider-Man real soon.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas in December.
