Say what you will about the entire #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement but it can't be denied that the completion of Zack Snyder's Justice League was a crowning achievement in the world of superhero and comic book films. Of course, a lot of it can be credited not only to the director himself and the film's cast and crew but also to the collective efforts of fans who tirelessly demanded Warner Bros. and DC to have the film released.

The movement was pretty groundbreaking thinking about it now but initially, Snyder wasn't that vocal about his thoughts regarding the Snyder Cut movement which kicked off in 2017. When the campaign gained mainstream traction, the director would ultimately join the brigade and the rest as they said is history. Apparently, the DCEU patriarch had a good reason for choosing not to show his support for the campaign during its early stages.

In an interview with The Times, Zack simply said that he didn't want to get on the wrong side of Warner Bros. and risk getting threatened legally. He explained: "I was more worried the studio would sue me. Do something to silence me."

It may appear as if Snyder is trying to oppose WB with his previous statements but that doesn't seem to be the case. If anything, it looks like he wants to maintain a good working relationship with the production company because you never know, they may end up working again in the future. Now, whether or not the SnyderVerse movement will be able to replicate the success of the Snyder Cut campaign remains to be seen but a lot of us are still hopeful that WB will eventually have a change of heart.

Justice League is available for streaming on HBO Max.
