Wonder Woman 1984 may have turned out to be a divisive film overall but it can't be denied that it was home to several surprising moments. One of which features the epic return and DC Extended Universe debut of Lynda Carter aka the OG Wonder Woman to a lot of fans.

The DCEU sequel marked the debut of the "greatest Amazonian warrior" Asteria who was the original wearer of the Golden armor Diana Prince would use during her thrilling showdown with Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah. During the film's credit scene, it was revealed that Asteria is more than just a myth and in fact, she's still alive. And the actress who played her, you ask? None other than Lynda Carter herself in what can be best described as a surprising but welcome return.

The present-day Wonder Woman can't stop gushing over her "Mama Bear" who she looks up to as her mentor. In a heartfelt post on her social media handles, Gadot paid a touching tribute to the legendary actress. "Mama bear! I'm so grateful and honored to have you as my mentor and guide through this crazy journey. I loved sitting down with you to share our love for this amazing character that changed both of our lives. I love you @RealLyndaCarter," Gal wrote.

We're still unsure if Asteria's appearance in the film was just a one-off cameo but the generally positive response it got from the DC fandom should be enough to convince Warner Bros. to have Lynda stick around for more Wonder Woman films. And hey, I would totally love to see an encounter between her and Diana. That would totally make the geek community explode.

Wonder Woman 1984 is screening in select cinemas and on HBO Max.
