A lot of intrigue surrounds Kathryn Hahn's character in WandaVision. From the get-go, Agnes has displayed a pretty mysterious and shady behavior which has led viewers to go on full detective mode and theorize about her true involvement in Wanda's new pocket reality. Is she really up to no good?
Longtime readers of the comics are speculating that Agnes is actually Agatha Harkness who shares a lot of history and a deep connection with Wanda Maximoff. In the comics, Agatha, who is sometimes villainous and sometimes an ally of the Scarlet Witch plays a key role in helping Maximoff master her powers.
A persistent theory suggests that Agnes is either working with Nightmare or Mephisto but considering the show has been keeping us guessing since Episode 1, it's hard to conclude whether Agnes could be up to something or if she, just like everyone else in Westview is mere a victim of Wanda's mind-altering ways.
Now, a video from the show's fifth episode may have debunked theories surrounding the nosy neighbor. Eagle-eyed fan @mirxclewanda posted a clip from the '80s episode of the show wherein Agnes seems to be under Wanda's control. In the said clip, When Vision starts questioning Agnes' tense demeanor, Maximoff can be seen tapping her arm, seemingly prompting Agnes to laugh along with her. Check it out here:
It's an interesting theory when you think about it and looking back on Episode 6, Wanda could actually be the reason Agnes was determined to leave Westview. For all we know, Agnes might only be in Westview to actually help Wanda and not to cause mayhem herself which again isn't too farfetched to believe considering their comic history. Then again, we can never be sure as WandaVision has been pretty unpredictable since the beginning.
