It's been close to two months since Marvel Studios' third Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland began filming but up to this point, the project is still shrouded by mystery and a lot of webheads are still guessing as to what the film's central plot is going to be. Is it going to be just a sequel or could it be something more?
If you'll ask "Spoiler-Man" Tom himself, he's pretty excited to be working on the project which marks his sixth appearance as the MCU's web-slinging hero and so far, he's yet to give fans some juicy (and spoiler) updates about the much-awaited MCU film.
However, Holland claims that Homecoming 3 will impress a lot of fans just as much as it impressed him. In a recent interview with the good folks over at Variety, Tom confidently stated that Spider-Man 3 is the most ambitious superhero film ever. "I can say that it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made," he claims.
The British actor added: "You sit down, read the script, and see what they’re trying to do, and they’re succeeding. It’s really impressive. I’ve never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it. And I’m just, you know, again, that lucky little sh-t who happens to be Spider-Man in it. We got a lot more shooting to do. We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks. We stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again. I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it."
That's a pretty bold claim from Spidey himself but it also gives you an idea that a lot of great things could go down in the sequel. Of course, I'll take Holland's word any day, and let's be honest, he's yet to let us down with his Spider-Man performance. I can even go as far as saying that he just might go down in comic book film history as the definitive live-action version of the character.
Homecoming 3 will hit theaters in December.
