Loki has always been one of the more interesting and compelling characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is why a lot of fans were heartbroken when the God of Mischief was written off from the franchise in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. However, Marvel Studios is giving Tom Hiddleston another shot at playing the Asgardian anti-hero in his own Disney+ series Loki which premiered yesterday to much fanfare.

Before the actual premiere of its debut episode, Loki generated a lot of buzz online when one of the teasers revealed that the titular character's gender-fluidity will be addressed on the show. Having studied the character following his casting over a decade ago, Hiddleston gave Loki's MCU sexuality his seal of approval.

In an interview with Inverse, the British actor pretty much confirmed himself that Loki is indeed gender-fluid. He said: "It's always been there in the comics for some time and in the history of the character for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Breadth and range of identity contained in the character has been emphasized and is something I was always aware of when I was first cast 10 years ago."

There's no denying that Marvel Studios nailed another way out of the park with Loki and it goes to show that the production company can do no wrong. What's even more amazing is the amount of support the franchise is still getting from fans despite other people claiming that people are already experiencing superhero fatigue. Obviously, that's not the case and if anything, viewers will take any MCU content they can sink their teeth into.

Loki is now streaming on Disney+.
