Tom Cruise is set to take all the action to outer space and then some for his next film project with Elon Musk. The Top Gun and Mission Impossible star, along with director Doug Liman has received the green light from NASA to proceed with the yet-to-be-titled project which was first announced earlier this year.

NASA confirmed their exciting involvement in the ambitious project on Twitter. Administrator Jimmy Bridenstine tweeted: "NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station! We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA's ambitious plans a reality." Check it out here:

We've seen Tom Cruise travel through land, sea, and air in his previous blockbuster films and this time around, the 58-year-old actor is set to defy all laws of gravity, and I couldn't be more stoked. It's also a breakthrough for the entire film industry which has relied heavily on CGI in the past for space-related films and for obvious reasons. What a time to be alive!
