Marvel and DC director James Gunn has got to be one of the most colorful personalities on social media and we've proven time and time again that he uses his platform not only to hype up his upcoming work but also to voice out his opinions regarding socio-political issues.
This time around, The Suicide Squad director called out Donald Trump's former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for her "inappropriate" tweet amidst all the tension brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent Washington riots. In a tweet, Sanders expressed her displeasure over losing 50,000 followers on her platform, citing it as an attack on her freedom of expression.
She wrote: "I've lost 50k+ followers this week. The radical left and their big tech allies cannot marginalize, censor, or silence the American people. This is not China, this is United States of America, and we are a free country."
Her remarks didn't sit well with the Guardians of the Galaxy director so he took matters into his own hands and called out Sanders, even going as far as calling her "sh*t". He wrote: "More Americans are dying every single day from Covid than in all of 9-11 and you losers are complaining about your lost Twitter followers. You're like insecure middle school kids, only made of shit."
In other James Gunn news, his soft reboot of The Suicide Squad is arguably one of the most anticipated DC films this year, and with projects like The Batman and TheFlash all being pushed back to 2022, the sole spotlight will be on Gunn and his exciting DC project. Aside from that, he could potentially start working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 later this year.
The Suicide Squad is also expected to drop on HBO Max sometime this 2021.
