The Suicide Squad James Gunn Reveals Major Spoiler for Film

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is beginning to rev up the hype engine for the highly anticipated DC team-up film and he promises nothing but fun and explosiveness for the soft reboot of the 2016 flick originally helmed by David Ayer. Sure, we've seen the breathtaking preview of the film last August but we still don't have a clue about the film's true plot. Now, Gunn is hinting that the supposed "squad" will go after one another instead of actually teaming up to cause mayhem.

In a special feature from Empire Magazine, Gunn pretty much spoiled the stuff that will go down in the film and then some. He said: "But in The Suicide Squad, some of the characters end up being good, some end up being terrible. They don't just get in fights and say they're going to kill each other, they actually do get in fights and kill each other. You really don't know who's going to live and who's going to die. I was given full freedom to kill anyone – and I mean anyone – by DC."

Now, seeing how stacked the Task Force X lineup will be in the film, Gunn's claims shouldn't come as a surprise because it's only natural for him and his team of writers to keep a select few of his "squad" and by the looks of it, The Suicide Squad could revolve around the villains outsmarting each other in a survival of the fittest kind of scenario which I believe would be a neat treatment. Early in the game, I think we know who remains in the team and which characters will get killed off but let's reserve our judgment after we see the film next year.

The Suicide Squad hits cinemas in 2021.
