Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is undoubtedly the face of the DC Extended Universe or at least he should be and I find it quite baffling that the man who pretty much laid the groundwork for the franchise and launched it along with Zack Snyder in 2013 has yet to get his own proper film sequel. For years now, Cavill has been lobbying to get the ball rolling with Man of Steel 2 but it's evident that Warner Bros. has other plans for Superman.

As it stands, Cavill's Superman status is still in question with the studio announcing that they're doing a reboot to be helmed by Star Wars director J.J. Abrams. Not even the success of the Snyder Cut and the massive fan support the British actor has been receiving seem to be enough for Warner Bros. to actually reconsider.

Turns out, Henry may have found himself a new ally in the form of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is set to make his DCEU debut in Black Adam. According to a report from Geekosity, the former multi-time WWE champion is interested in producing Man of Steel 2 and he's willing to fight with WB executives over it.

The report states that even if the studio wanted to, they wouldn't dare oppose him because they can't afford to lose an actor as huge as The Rock who happens to be a huge fan of Zack Snyder's work in DC. It's also worth mentioning that previous rumors suggested that he also wants Black Adam to have an epic showdown with Kal-El in the DCEU so it's safe to assume that it's his driving force for helping Cavill out.

Of course, Johnson has always been in synch with the fans and he sure knows what they want. If the rumors are in fact true, you gotta admire his commitment and dedication in trying to make the DC Extended Universe a solid and formidable film franchise, and hopefully, he ultimately succeeds.

Meanwhile, Black Adam is set for release in 2022.
