Warning: if you haven't seen The Mandalorian's new season yet, this news contains major spoilers so read at your own risk!

Alright, so the first episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 finally made its epic arrival, and right off the bat, Lucasfilm took it upon themselves to pull the big guns and they sure as hell delivered one bombshell after the other with new details surrounding the true fate of Boba Fett following the events of Return of the Jedi where he was believed to be dead. What exactly happens to the beloved Star Wars character has remained a huge mystery to a lot of fans all these years and now, the truth is slowly unfolding.

Now, the second season's first episode confirms that he didn't actually die after his jetpack malfunctioned in ROTJ which caused him to plunge directly into the Sarlacc Pit. Fast forward a number of years later, the Star Wars spinoff series' brand new season delivers a huge shocker to fans after Mando himself crosses paths with a guy he initially assumed to be another Mandalorian. To give you a little walkthrough, Din Djarin is looking for other Mandalorians who could help him in his quest of bringing back The Child to his kind. However, the armored guy he met, although he was sporting Boba Fett's armor wasn't exactly Fett, nor was he a Mandalorian. He was just some guy named Cobb Vanth, commonly referred to as "The Marshal" by the people of Mos Pelgo and according to him, he acquired the armor from Jawas in exchange for the crystals he possesses.

The epic chapter nine of the series revolves around Mando trying to obtain Fett's armor but not without a deal, of course, courtesy of the new Star Wars character. In order for him to get the Mandalorian armor, he must help Vanth take down a massive Krayt Dragon that has been wreaking havoc in Mos Pelgo for some years now. He, along with Vanth and the people of Mos Pelgo would later form an unlikely alliance with the Tusken Raiders to take down the imposing creature and they ultimately succeed in killing the leviathan. Vanth made true to his promise of returning the armor to Mando.

The episode closes with the stunning revelation that Boba Fett is indeed alive. StarWars vet Temuera Morrison who famously portrayed Jango Fett in the prequel trilogy made his triumphant return to the franchise to play Boba Fett. Of course, it would only make sense that he looked identical to Jango given the fact that Boba is a genetic clone of his father.

Just like that, Jon Favreau and his crew have once again created a reason for fans to get excited about what's to come. And trust me when I tell you, that's just the tip of the iceberg. We're definitely in for more surprises along the way and it doesn't take a genius to realize that.
