It's safe to say that not everyone is thrilled about Gina Carano being unceremoniously dumped by Lucasfilm over her controversial statements and opinions on social media. The former MMA-fighter-turned-actress has officially been relieved of her contractual obligations last week and the entire Star Wars fandom went into a frenzy.

A lot of Carano's supporters believe that the ex-The Mandalorian actress fell victim to Hollywood's long-running issue with regard to double standards and shockingly enough, they are dragging Carano's co-star Pedro Pascal into the mess.

It all began when Pascal's tweet from 2018 which was deemed "offensive" resurfaced following the announcement of Carano's firing. In the said post, Pascal compared the modern-day United States to Nazi Germany. After the tweet went viral again, fans were convinced that his and Gina's post are virtually the same.

Just recently, a group of fans kickstarted an online petition demanding Disney to reinstate Carano. The said movement has already garnered close to 50,000 signatures as of writing. Apparently, some people have also launched a petition which calls for the Din Djarin actor to be fired from Lucasfilm as well. The said petition is relatively small and only has 17 signatures as of writing,

As it stands, Lucasfilm looks determined to stick with its initial decision regardless of the growing backlash it's been generating for days now. A lot of fans are threatening to cancel their Disney+ subscription and boycott the third season of The Mandalorian if Gina doesn't get reinstated.

Personally, I think the bridges have been burned and it would take a miracle for Disney to reverse their verdict. Honestly, I don't think there's anything we can do about it now other than just accept what happened and move forward.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian's Season 3 is set to begin filming in April.
