Keanu Reeves will always be a hot commodity in Hollywood but despite that, it's crazy to think that the actor has yet to star in a mega film franchise like Marvel and Star Wars. Of course, he's previously had experience over at DC playing the occult detective John Constantine so landing a role in a high-profile franchise isn't exactly going to be a first for him if ever.

For years now, the John Wick actor has been rumored to be joining both franchises with insider reports claiming that he's either going to play Adam Warlock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the famed Sith hero Darth Revan in the Star Wars universe but the rumors were quickly debunked.

Now, a new scoop from YouTuber MIKE ZEROH claims that The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau has in fact gotten the services of the actor for an upcoming Lucasfilm project. According to him, Keanu has been cast to play King Valar in an untitled project. However, it's not going to be a live-action series but instead a new animated show which will adapt the animation style of the Star Wars video games. Check out the report here:

It's worth noting that ZEROH has had a hit-and-miss reputation in terms of delivering "insider information" but if his report ends up becoming true, then we're all set for something truly special. Honestly, if there was ever a perfect opportunity for Keanu to join either the MCU or Star Wars franchises, I believe now is the time and I'm guessing Reeves has always been down with the idea, he was just probably waiting for the right project to come.

Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves is slated to return for The Matric 4.
