Fans have been lobbying for Marvel star Sebastian Stan to play a younger version of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise for years now and following the famed Jedi's jaw-dropping appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2's grand finale, the clamor for the actor to get cast as Luke in a Disney+ spin-off series only intensified.

Stan, who a lot of people believe shares a striking resemblance to a young Mark Hamill has expressed his interest in playing a post-Return of the Jedi version of Luke in the past, and just recently, he finally broke his silence about potentially taking on the role in the Mandoverse after rumors of him being involved in a future Star Wars project circulated online.

Even Hamill himself chimed in and as much as he's down with the idea, he says that he doesn't exactly have that much of a creative pull in the franchise. Now, in a new interview, the Winter Soldier actor is once again opening up about the possibilities of him jumping ship to the Star Wars universe.

Speaking with MTV Asia, Stan reveals that he's aware of the rumors surrounding his alleged involvement in the franchise but clarified that there are no negotiations going on. He explains: "I always certainly hear about [Luke Skywalker rumors] and I'm always slightly confused because I'm like if there are these conversations happening, why isn't anybody calling me about it and having a conversation with me about it?"

Stan also shares that he grew up on Star Wars and admits that even he is curious as to what exactly happened to Luke following Episode VI. He added: "It's another one of those things where you're like, 'Well, you don't want to f*ck up that character. You want to get that one right.' But anyway, we'll see."

It's almost guaranteed that Skywalker will return to the Mandoverse in the future given the fact that he is currently taking care of Grogu aka Baby Yoda. But the question is, which actor will end up snagging the role of a lifetime? I mean, I'm not saying I know better but if Lucasfilm was smart, they'd cast Sebastian for the role because it just feels right. Let's see how everything plays out in the end.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to begin filming this month.
