The finale episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finally confirmed the true identity of the Power Broker and as it turns out, it was none other than Sharon Carter who was trying to exact revenge on the people who have done her wrong following the events of Captain America: Civil War. The character being revealed as one of the show's main villains was actually quite predictable but the revelation that she's actually still in touch with her villainous connections was a twist a lot of fans didn't see coming.

Sharon's road to becoming a villain and leaving behind her heroic past is an interesting story for sure. However, there are people who find it hard to believe that Sharon would resort to living a dishonorable life considering she's always patterned herself to her uncle Peggy Carter. This led to Marvel conspiracists coming up with a theory that the Sharon we saw in the series was a Skrull all along.

Now, the show's creator Malcolm Spellman is finally breaking his silence after several theories about Sharon as an actual Skrull went viral all over the internet. Appearing on Amon Warmann's Fade To Black podcast (via ComicBookMovie), the showrunner had an interesting answer when asked about the popular MCU theory.

Spellman didn't exactly confirm nor deny anything but he understands the level of secrecy that goes behind these MCU projects. He explained: "I cannot definitively say anything... I'm not tracking what's been announced. So much sh*t is happening in the MCU now, I've gotta be real careful!"

Naturally, Spellman is trying to play it coy to avoid giving away any spoilers but reading between the lines, it's safe to assume that he knows a thing or two about Sharon's MCU future. For now, the Skrull theory, as interesting as it sounds still seems like quite the stretch because if anything, Carter has her motivations for becoming a bad person and it wasn't a decision she made out of the blue.

The finale episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming Disney+.
