2021 will be the dawning of a new era for Marvel's intergalactic superteam. The comic book giant has released its epic final trailer for the Eternals (no, not the live-action film also set to premiere in 2021) and it sees our heroes coming together once again to go up against arguably Marvel's most iconic and seasoned villain.
Eternals #1 will mark a brand new run for the intergalactic superhero team consisting of immortal beings. The aforementioned event is set to bring back familiar faces as well as new allies to the group. Created by the legendary duo of Kieron Gillen (Uncanny X-Men, Thor) and Esad Ribić (Secret Wars, King Thor), the inaugural issue will be released in January 2021 and will revolve around the Eternals' rediscovery and how they'll fit into the galaxy. Their grand return will be foiled by The Mad Titan himself, Thanos who attempts to put an end to the superhero dream team. The trailer also seems to tease an alliance between the Eternals and Iron Man. Now, that's something to look forward to.
Considering the fact that its film counterpart will be released just a couple of months after Eternals #1's debut, it'll be interesting to see how the Marvel Studios offering will tie directly into the new comic book. Of course, we can't expect it to be 100% faithful to the new source material but it's pretty safe to assume that the film version draws some inspiration from the upcoming release.
Speaking of the MCU's Eternals, the film is slated for release on November 5, 2021.
