DC fans are excited for the big screen "rebirth" of the Dark Knight in the upcoming standalone The Batman project and judging by the official teaser we saw last year, it's evident that the character will be given an entirely new direction moving forward. Fans are also praising the film this early and a lot of people are under the impression that the people involved in the project are getting along pretty nicely.

Turns out, there's real-life drama brewing behind-the-scenes and it involves lead star Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves. We reported last December that Reeves has gained a reputation of being a "control freak" on the set of the DC film and rumor has it that he is overworking Pattinson to the point where he's "being pushed to his breaking point."

Now, a new scoop from tipster Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) claims that Pattinson intended to play the caped crusader the way he wanted to but he's not given much of a say in terms of the character's creative direction, something he has reportedly taken issue with. Richtman also states that most of his suggestions were turned down by Reeves and there may actually be some sort of animosity between the two.

This rumor has actually been going on for months now but of course, take it with a huge grain of salt. Now, if the reports are in fact true, it could spell disaster for the new Batman franchise they're trying to establish if the key people behind it couldn't get on the same page. And you know what they say, it takes two to tango so I'm hopeful that everyone will actually get along especially if they're planning to make a sequel for the film.

The Batman hits theaters in 2022.
