Since the official confirmation that both Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina will be starring in Marvel Studios' third Spider-Man film to reprise their villainous roles, the rumor mill hasn't stopped spinning with a lot of actors from the past Spider-Man films all being the subject of speculation. Unsurprisingly, that includes The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor Dane DeHaan who played Harry Osborn aka Green Goblin in the divisive 2014 film and according to the dirt sheets, his version of the iconic Spidey villain is also set to make an appearance in No Way Home.

Last January, DeHaan actually debunked the rumors linking him to Spider-Man 3, claiming that he doesn't even know how Marvel Studios would actually pull off something so grand and ambitious. Now, as the hype surrounding the Tom Holland-led film continues to increase, Dane is reiterating that he won't be part of No Way Home. In fact, he has no interest in revisiting his old Marvel villain role.

In a conversation with ComicBook to talk about his new Apple TV+ series Lisey's Story, the actor shared that he'd much rather do something new and original than reprise his Harry Osborn role. Dane explains: "I would definitely hope to take on a new thing, for sure. What's exciting to me is always doing new things, and I'm sure something like that will come along again in my life, and I'm excited to see what it is."

Don't get me wrong, DeHaan is a brilliant actor but his portrayal of Spider-Man's arch-nemesis left nothing to be desired, and if anything, he was easily one of the weakest points of what was already an underwhelming superhero film. Marvel Studios made the right call of casting Foxx's Electro instead of Osborn but hey, that's not to say that I wouldn't be interested in seeing him turn up in the MCU in the future.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas in December.
