Marvel and DC star Sylvester Stallone made headlines this week following a controversial report which claims that he is one of the newest members of former United States President Donald Trump's private club. For years now, Stallone's political stand and allegiances have remained a mystery to a lot of people but following the rumor, fans quickly came to the conclusion that he is in fact a Trump supporter.
The news spread like wildfire and naturally, people shared their sentiments about it on social media. Safe to say that not a lot of people were thrilled after learning about Sly's alleged association with the polarizing media personality turned politician and it would eventually lead to him getting canceled on Twitter and boy, the backlash he received was insane.
Now, just days after the internet lambasted him, the Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad actor is finally coming clean, and right off the bat, he dismissed all the rumors linking him with Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.
Taking to his official Instagram page, the acting legend brought clarity to the matter and said he's not in any way involved. Sly wrote: "I would like to say to everyone that this never happened. This is just not true. It NEVER ever happened.. I mean no disrespect to anyone, I’m simply not a member.. So Keep Punching Folks" Check it out here:
I totally understand why Stallone chose to break his silence regarding the matter instead of choosing to ignore it. After all, his career and reputation are being tainted by just a single rumor and the backlash he's been getting all over social media is becoming a little too intense so yeah, good on him.
Sylvester Stallone stars in The Suicide Squad as King Shark. He's also rumored to return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
