Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Villain Makes First Official Comic Book Appearance

There were a lot of questions left unanswered during Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker but fear not, avid Star Wars fanatics as the upcoming issues of Marvel's Star Wars comic book series might finally provide us with some clarity regarding some of the mysteries in Episode IX that J.J. Abrams and his crew weren't able to deliver. The cover art for the upcoming issue # 8 of Darth Vader's comic book run will see the shocking comic book debut of Ochi of Bestoon, a famed hunter of Sith relics and an apparent devotee of the dark side of the Force.

If the name rings a bell to you, it's because the character actually made its official StarWars debut in the ninth installment of the Skywalker Saga led by Daisy Ridley. Ochi was briefly shown in the film in a flashback scene where he ends up killing Rey's parents after she was sent away following Ochi's hot pursuit of the future Jedi trainee. The artwork features Ochi's showdown with Vader as he attacks him from the air which definitely leaves a lot of questions considering Vader is also a known ally of the dark side. Now, it's great that the comic book is about to explore the true origin of Ochi, a character who I think deserved a little spotlight in the live-action films although I'd like to assume that Ochi was just added by Abrams last minute to the film to give fans an idea what exactly happened to Rey's parents and that he wasn't actually meant to be a major character. Of course, that changes with his upcoming comic book debut, and the writers can easily turn things around for him and make him a bigtime player during the course of Marvel's comic series, pre-sequel trilogy, at least. Let's see what happens next.
