I think we can all agree that The Mandalorian will forever go down in history as the show that singlehandedly reinvigorated the Star Wars franchise and pretty much saved it from the brink of doom. However, despite the show proving to be the current driving force for the franchise, all good things must come to an end and rumor has it that The Mandalorian will bid farewell sooner than we think.

As unfortunate as it may sound, there still seems to be a silver lining through it all. Instead of actually coming to a close, it looks like The Mandalorian is actually set for a major overhaul soon. We reported last week that Lucasfilm is looking to drop the series after the upcoming third season but Cineflix's Jordan Maison claims that the series is expected to run until Season 4 which was always the plan.

Maison reports that Season 4 isn't exactly the end for the beloved series as Lucasfilm will only rename the series in an obvious attempt to expand its story and possibly move away from its Mandalore plot. Speaking of, CBR speculates that the series' potential revamp could include Luke Skywalker as one of its main fixtures moving forward. As it stands, the creative minds behind The Mandalorian have yet to offer an official statement so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out.

The thing about The Mandalorian is, it hasn't always been about Din Djarin so a possible change for the series isn't something that should come as a surprise. And assuming the rumors are actually true, I don't think there's anything to be worried about as long as Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni continue to take control of it.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to drop in early 2022.
