While the future of the Star Wars universe remains unclear at this stage, Lucasfilm is taking fans on a little trip down memory lane to give us a glimpse of the rich history of the franchise that has yet to be uncovered. Currently, the production company is building the franchise's future by looking back into the past, and arguably the most anticipated project they're set to release next year is the standalone Obi-Wan series which marks the return of Ewan McGregor to the universe after nearly two decades.

Now, as the cast and crew of the upcoming series which includes Hayden Christensen gear up to begin filming in a couple of weeks, Ewan is already putting in the effort to get back into his Obi-Wan shape. A new image of the Scottish actor has surfaced online and it sees him rocking the Jedi Master's signature facial hair.

But before you think that it was taken on-set, the image was actually shot in a motorcycle shop in California and to those unaware, the actor is actually a motorcycle enthusiast. I gotta say, Ewan may have found the fountain of youth because he didn't seem to age a day. Maybe it's the Force? We'll never truly know. Check out the image here:

Excitement is already building up for the series this early in the game and it isn't hard to understand why. Despite the fact that Revenge of the Sith gave us some of the best lightsaber duels in Star Wars history, it can't be denied that it left all of us hanging and wanting more. There's also no doubt that Obi-Wan and Anakin have a score to settle especially Skywalker after he was embarrassed by his former mentor during their heated battle in Mustafar. Also, more than anything, I can't wait for Kenobi to utter the lines "Hello there!" once again.

Obi-Wan is slated for release in 2022.
