Spider-Man Actor Andrew Garfield Becomes Human Torch in Fiery New Art

With all the hype and intrigue surrounding the upcoming third Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland as our favorite web-slinging hero, fans couldn't help but think about the possibility of Andrew Garfield actually returning as a Spider-Man from a different dimension outside of Earth-616, considering his The Amazing Spider-Man 2 co-star Jamie Foxx has recently landed a role in the MCU and the fact that they're toying with the idea of finally diving into the Marvel Multiverse.

Now, this new fan art is making the rounds all over the internet depicting Andrew's potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but as a different character. The image, created by artist @ultraraw26 sees Garfield as Fantastic Four member Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Quite odd, don't you think? But apparently, to those unaware, fans have actually fan cast the British actor as the MCU's fiery superhero. Do you think it works? See it for yourself below:

The Marvel Universe has been kind to several actors who were given a second chance after their first failed attempt at becoming a live-action superhero. Chris Evans instantly comes to mind who went from being Human Torch in 2005 to Captain America six years later and it saw his career skyrocket from there. Another prime example is Ryan Reynolds whose career got a much-needed boost when he signed up to play Deadpool after his disappointing Green Lantern film. Now, I wouldn't exactly call Andrew's Spider-Man venture a failure but it sure is polarizing amongst diehard webheads. His name rarely gets brought up when fans debate over who the best live-action Spidey is which is a complete shame because I genuinely liked his unorthodox take on both Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 3 begins production next week in New York.
