Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has been notorious over the years for spilling juicy details about the Marvel projects he's involved in but it looks like "Spoiler-Man" has finally learned his lesson and as of now, the actor has chosen to keep mum about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spidey project.
We've heard several rumors about Homecoming 3 but arguably the most persistent gossip out there is that previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to reprise their roles as the iconic Marvel web-slinger, this time in the MCU. Holland finally addressed the rumors in a recent interview with Variety and surprisingly, he didn't give out any spoilers.
The interviewer first asked the British actor if he's ever gotten the chance to meet either one of the actors. Holland revealed that he's actually bumped into them once or twice in the past and he had nothing but kind words to say about them. Tom shares: "I met Andrew once, I met him at the BAFTAs. He was lovely. He was a really nice bloke and we had a nice chat. It was quite soon after Spider-Man: Homecoming had come out. He was really positive and nice. I've bumped into Tobey a few times at different parties in LA. He was really nice."
It was pretty evident that Holland was trying his best to dodge questions about Tobey and Andrew's involvement in Spider-Man 3 but when was finally asked about it, the actor claims that Marvel Studios hasn't told him anything. "If they are, they haven't told me yet. That's something Marvel would do."
Of course, Marvel is known for its secrecy when it comes to its projects, and considering Spider-Man 3 is being described by Holland himself as "the most ambitious superhero film ever made", it's only natural that the studio would be more protective of the project.
I gotta say though, the anticipation is already killing a lot of fans, myself included and I do hope that if Tobey and Andrew are indeed attached to the project, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures will finally confirm it in grand fashion real soon. I guess we're still in the waiting game at this point.
Homecoming 3 hits cinemas in December.
