Many of us thought it would actually never happen but it did, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie just fell victim to cancel culture after his recent comments about Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson's "bromance" upset fans on social media. Apparently, Mackie isn't that huge of a fan of the Sam-Bucky ships that a lot of people within the MCU fandom have been obsessing with and called it "exploitation of homosexuality" in a recent conversation with Variety.

Anthony's statement quickly went viral and as ludicrous as it sounds, the actor faced backlash and is now being accused of homophobia just because he expressed his displeasure over the Sam-Bucky ship.

But hold your horses because the issue doesn't end there. In a surprising turn of events, Mackie's co-star and good pal Sebastian Stan is also being dragged into the controversy and people are attacking the Winter Soldier for being a "problematic" celebrity, saying that they don't blame Anthony for being "homophobic" since he's paired with Stan himself. Mackie's comments were clearly taken out of context and I'm pretty sure he didn't mean for his statement to come across as "homophobic". Again, social media continues to be an unhealthy environment for celebrities and I'm honestly getting fed up with this cancel culture thing. It's a disease that only aims to promote hatred and negativity and I genuinely hope that we can finally put a stop to it.

In other news, Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson's adventures continue in Captain America 4.
