Robert Downey Jr.'s Manager Reportedly Responsible For Him Unfollowing His Marvel Co-Stars

Robert Downey Jr. left a lot of hearts broken last week when Marvel founds discovered that the Iron Man actor unfollowed all of his Marvel Cinematic Universe co-stars on Instagram.

RDJ is considered by many as the patriarch of Marvel's billion-dollar film franchise but after exiting in 2019, Downey has made it clear that he wants to distance himself from the MCU limelight, even taking on a DC project which raised quite a few eyebrows.

Now, we still don't know the true reason behind RDJ's Marvel unfollow spree and if it was just an honest mistake on the actor's part but ComicBook notes that Downey's social media handles are being overseen by his manager which doesn't really come as a surprise. Previously, the Sweet Tooth producer's accounts were handled by his long-time personal assistant Jimmy Rich who passed away in a horrific car crash last May.

What's actually shocking is the fact that the actor's agent was reportedly responsible for unfollowing Downey's Avengers castmates and even removing his Iron Man profile picture and according to ComicBook's report, his manager would like to focus on the actor's future projects outside Marvel instead of living in the shadow of his storied MCU past. As of writing, Downey and his representatives have yet to address the matter.

Like I've stated in my previous article, RDJ unfollowing his Marvel co-stars might have been nothing personal, and if anything, it's just the actor's way of embracing his life outside of the billion-dollar franchise. Now, I don't think Downey is afraid of getting stereotyped for a role he played for over a decade but you know, we all gotta move on at some point and him moving forward with his career is something that is "inevitable".
