Two years since he made his final Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance as Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. continues to break barriers, proving that there is life after Marvel. It came as a huge shock to a lot of fans but RDJ found a new home over at DC Comics and it's looking quite evident that he'll be extending his partnership with Marvel's ultimate rival. To those unaware, Downey is one of the producers of the Netflix show Sweeth Tooth based on the DC Comics series of the same title.

The show dropped its entire first season last June to much fanfare and it even surpassed the streaming numbers of Marvel Studios' Loki. Of course, the triumph of the series meant that the red and black streaming platform will greenlight a second season, we just didn't know when.

Now, the Avengers actor himself excitingly announced on social media that Sweet Tooth has indeed been renewed for Season 2. Taking to the official Instagram page of his production house Team Downey, RDJ shared a little video of himself teasing the arrival of the follow-up. However, details about the project weren't disclosed. Check out the clip here:

It seems like Downey is enjoying his little break from acting and with his first major venture into producing becoming a huge success, it's safe to say that we'll get to see him produce more projects under the Team Downey banner in the future. Who knows, he might even star in one for all we know. I gotta say though, I do miss seeing him in a superhero project.

The first season of Sweet Tooth is streaming on Netflix.
