The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not only lauded for its intricate storytelling and mind-blowing action scenes, but fans also appreciate the fact that Marvel Studios is able to sneak in some pretty cool easter eggs and references that came from the comics and other media. However, as much as we enjoy seeing those, the studio doesn't always green light certain scenes that would include nods to famous Marvel material from the yesteryears for reasons oftentimes undisclosed.

Apparently, the original Thor film which premiered ten years ago almost included a nod to the 1966 animated series but the idea was ultimately scrapped. According to the book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (via The Direct), Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Josh Dallas, Jaimie Alexander, and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige learned how to sing the theme from The Mighty Thor animated series with the intention of including it in the film. The scene was actually shot but didn't make it to the final cut of the film.

As much of a bummer as it actually is, I totally get why the scene may have been scrapped from the film. You see, the first two Thor films had a more subdued tone to them quite different from the uber-colorful and joyous Thor: Ragnarok.

I guess the classic but ridiculously campy theme song seemed a little too out of place during the time and including it in the final cut of the first Thor movie would have hurt the original film's seriousness. I'm hopeful though that we'll get to see the actual footage or better yet, recreate the scene for Thor: Love and Thunder.

Speaking of, Thor: Love and Thunder will hit cinemas in 2022.
