Since the jaw-dropping confirmation that both Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina will be joining the MCU to reprise their villain roles as Electro and Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have quickly jumped to the conclusion that their respective adversaries Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will also be part of the highly-anticipated project.
However, Tom Holland has already dismissed rumors surrounding Tobey and Andrew's alleged involvement in the film, saying that if they were in fact appearing in the project, he'd be the first guy to know. Still, his claims didn't stop webheads from speculating and a lot of them are convinced that the British actor is just playing coy to avoid spilling major details about the film.
Now, the official Twitter handle of the Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios production may be teasing that the two actors are indeed headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It all began when the official page of the micro-blogging site offered to write the bio for its users.
Surprisingly enough, @SpiderManMovie joined the fun and asked for its own personalized to which Twitter replied: "#SpiderManNoWayHome starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield, only in movie theaters this Christmas." Check it out here.
Now, this "friendly" exchange doesn't exactly confirm anything but what if Marvel and Sony are secretly planting the seeds for their eventual announcement? While I don't wanna get everyone's hopes up, I have a really good feeling that No Way Home will live up to the hype of being "the most ambitious superhero film ever" as recently declared by Holland himself. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas in December.
