It no longer comes as a surprise how Lucasfilm jumped the gun on Star Wars several projects that will soon premiere on Disney+ and the production company made a wise decision to expand its library via the popular streaming service. Among all of the future offerings the franchise has in store, it's pretty safe to say that what fans are most excited about is the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series which will see the grand comeback of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

The series began production earlier this year but details about it have remained scarce. There were even reports that the people behind Obi-Wan went back to Los Angeles to film a few scenes featuring McGregor and Christensen. Now, we can officially confirm that the show has completed shooting and it's coming from General Kenobi himself.

In a conversation with Deadline, McGregor confirmed that the show has wrapped filming and according to him, fans will not be disappointed by it. He said: "We finished shooting our series, and it was really, really good fun. I really enjoyed working with [director/executive producer] Deborah Chow, and I think it will not disappoint. The new technology that we employed doing it is cool, and it was a different experience than making the original three films that I did."

Obi-Wan is easily one of Lucasfilm's future offerings that true blue fans of the Star Wars franchise should be on the lookout out for and not just because it marks Ewan and Hayden's on-screen reunion. You see, the show will chronicle the events that transpired after Episode III, something that the Skywalker saga never really explored.

Sure, it's a little too early to tell how the show fares but seeing Obi-Wan and Darth Vader clash for the very first time is enough to convince me that it'll be good. And let's be real here, the Star Wars franchise has been on quite a roll as of late, this show will just continue its momentum.

No official release date for Obi-Wan has been announced.
