Nintendo is Relaunching Iconic Game & Watch Console

For its 40th anniversary, Nintendo will amp up the nostalgia of gaming fans all over the globe by relaunching one of their most iconic devices ever — the Game & Watch console which debuted in 1980 and was produced until 1991.

The electronics and video game giant is making sure retro gamers won't feel alienated at all as the 2020 release of the console will stay true to the aesthetics and features of the original Game & Watch — with a few modern twists and modifications.

As per CNN, the device will now sport a color LCD display that will make playing built-in games like the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.:The Lost Levels, and Ball (Mario Version) hella worthwhile. It also retains the alarm clock feature which in the tap of a button will show 35 different screen-saver scenes of Mario interacting with the clock. Now talk about a major throwback!

Speaking of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo's flagship game just turned 35 years old, and what better way to relive all its glory than by getting the upcoming Game & Watch device. It all comes full circle for sure!

The 40th Anniversary edition of the Nintendo Game & Watch will hit stores on November 13th.
