Netflix's first-ever virtual event titled TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event was a sure-fire success and it all ended with a huge bang with The Witcher being one of the spectacle's highlights. Lead star Henry Cavill along with series creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich led the panel for The Witcher Season 2 and as expected, TUDUM was home to the grand debut of not just one, but two official clips from the highly anticipated fantasy series.

If that wasn't enough, Netflix also dropped the official full trailer for The Witcher Season 2 which begins streaming later this year. The said trailer gives us a glimpse of the things we can expect from the upcoming season pretty much revolves around Geralt's mission of protecting Ciri as well as the "monsters" — both literally and figuratively that he has to deal with. During the latter part of the showcase, Lauren revealed the bombshell news that Netflix has officially renewed The Witcher for a third season, something that a lot of fans have been hoping to hear. While details about it weren't disclosed, fans of the hit fantasy series based on the award-winning video game and book series can now sleep soundly knowing that we'll get to see more action from Geralt of Rivia.

If it wasn't obvious enough, Netflix has always had great plans for The Witcher franchise and it's clear from the get-go that they have complete faith in Henry Cavill who also stars in the Enola Holmes film franchise. I'm couldn't be more thrilled for him because he totally deserves it.

The Witcher Season 2 will begin streaming on Netflix on December 17.
