Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is shaping up to be quite the comic book film spectacle. Aside from the fact that it's said to be Marvel's first "horror" flick, the film, as the title suggests is set to tap into the Multiverse and explore the wonders outside of Earth-616.

As it stands, we still know very little about the Benedict Cumberbatch sequel other than the fact that it'll be helmed by Sam Raimi who is making his triumphant Marvel return after 13 years. It has also been confirmed that the film's events will be directly set up by the ongoing Disney+ series WandaVision with Elizabeth Olsen also joining the project.

Doctor Strange 2 will arguably be the most unpredictable Marvel film to date and that is due to the nature of the project. You just don't know who or what to expect. Speaking of, a new Patreon report from tipster Daniel Richtman claims that Marvel Studios is eyeing Jennifer Lawrence to reprise her role as Mystique, a character she portrayed in the now-defunct Foxverse.

Other details about her alleged casting weren't disclosed but given the fact that the film will indeed revolve around the concept of the Marvel Multiverse, it isn't too farfetched to believe that characters from other Marvel film properties could crossover to the MCU.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is slated for release in 2022.
