Marvel Studios Reportedly Adamant About Casting Amber Heard in the MCU

Despite all of the issues plaguing her personal life right now, Amber Heard's professional career is still doing pretty well and it's safe to say that she's one of the most sought-after actors right now. Rumor has it that Heard's time in the DC Extended Universe may soon come to an end but Amber has come out on multiple occasions to state that she's not going anywhere. Assuming that Amber does in fact lose her Mera role over at Warner Bros., another production company is reportedly willing to open its doors for the Aquaman star.

Insider Daniel Richtman previously reported that Amber is in the running to play Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot. No updates were given about the alleged casting but according to his latest Patreon scoop, the studio is "seriously considering" the ever-so-controversial actress to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the role wasn't disclosed.

However, there's a bit of an issue with regard to the legitimacy of the report. Taking into consideration Disney's family-friendly image, I personally believe it would be a huge gamble on their part to hire the actress during the peak of her legal battle with former husband and ex-Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp. Sure, the allegations thrown at Amber have yet to be proven but fans have developed a hatred for the actress, and casting her in the MCU could spell major trouble for the franchise especially now that cancel culture is running wild.

The MCU's Fantastic Four reboot is in active development.
