Marvel Studios Officially Confirms Loki Season 2 During Finale Episode

Warning: if you haven't seen the finale episode of Loki, this article contains spoilers so read at your own risk!

The God of Mischief has seemingly experienced his "endgame" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on multiple occasions but he always finds a way to come back. Following his tragic demise in Avengers: Infinity War, MCU diehards thought we've seen the last of Tom Hiddleston's Loki in the franchise but Disney+ gave the fan-favorite character his own series. The general belief within the fandom was that Loki will only serve as Hiddleston's "proper" farewell to the franchise but as it turns out, the series has a huge impact on Phase Four.

Now that we've reached the finale, the studio officially confirmed that the hit spinoff show has been renewed for a second season. Episode 6's mid-credits scene showed the familiar title card hinting at the God of Mischief's return to the franchise. However, details about Loki Season 2 still remain under wraps for now. But honestly, even without the formal announcement, I think it's safe to say that we all saw it coming as the finale episode left us with a massive cliffhanger.

Now, I'm guessing that Loki's second season will not pick up where the first season left off considering Phase Four's multiverse arc will continue in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and potentially future MCU projects. The real question now is, how will Loki's finale episode be integrated into the aforementioned films? Of course, Marvel Studios has everything sorted out by now but it'll still be interesting to see how everything unfolds.

Loki's finale episode is now streaming on Disney+.
