James Buchanan Barnes is easily one of the most intriguing characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and over the last couple of weeks, fans have been trying to dig deep to uncover something about Bucky that previous MCU films have failed to dive into. Now, if you haven't been keeping up with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there's been an ongoing theory for weeks now suggesting that Bucky is actually bisexual.

The speculation on Bucky's sexual orientation began as early as Episode 1 when it was revealed that he's been trying out dating apps. The former Winter Soldier ultimately quit the entire online matchmaker thing, saying that he saw a lot of dating app profiles featuring "tiger pictures". It's a bit of a stretch when you think about it but fans concluded that images of tigers are something that he'd more likely be seeing on men's profiles.

Unsurprisingly, the internet isn't done speculating just yet and a lot of fans are still convinced that the bisexual theories surrounding Bucky are actually true. Now, they want Marvel Studios to go all-in and actually pair him up romantically with Sam Wilson aka The Falcon.

One fan even pointed out that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan won't have any problem representing LGBTQ+ characters in the MCU since they've both been cast in such roles before and they're professionals. Check out the tweet below but be forewarned: it's totally #NSFW.

I'm not saying that I'm entirely against the idea of them turning Sam and Bucky into lovers somewhere down the line but honestly, I'd love for them to remain as good buddies and close allies more than anything. I'm also pretty sure that the scene which sparked all the theories about Bucky being bisexual was completely intentional. If anything, the internet fanfictions featuring Steve and Bucky are to blame for it but again, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It's just unnecessary at this point.

The latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
