Game of Thrones fans are gonna love the sound of this! The show's spinoff series is House of the Dragon is still on track for a 2022 release, that's according to HBO president Casey Bloys himself.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Bloys gave everyone an update and confirmed that House of Dragon will indeed hit HBO sometime in 2022. He also revealed that casting for the show is underway although he didn't go into detail about other bits and pieces concerning the upcoming project. But from what we know so far, the show is set 300 years before the events of GOT. It's also set to tell the story of House Targaryen.

Fans are yearning for more GOT stories to be told on the small screen following the groundbreaking series' epic finale which premiered May of last year. Other shows better be on the lookout for the spinoff considering how dominant Game of Thrones was in the television game and quite honestly, I see House of Dragon delivering the same results as its mother show. That is not just a prediction.

House of the Dragon's exact release date has yet to be announced.
