Diehard fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are awaiting the highly-anticipated comeback of the one and only God of Mischief in Loki. The series will revolve around the fan-favorite anti-hero played by Tom Hiddleston and his transition from villain to a hero who will be responsible for bringing order back into alternate realities after his heist of the Tesseract. In the comics, Loki has taken on many forms and the show has been teasing that we'll finally see the character's shapeshifting abilities.
Not only that, but the show apparently confirms something about Loki's sexual identity. In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment from one of the show's latest teasers, Loki's TVA document states that his sex is "fluid", therefore confirming that the character is in fact canonically gender-fluid in the MCU. In layman's terms, Loki doesn't identify himself as having a fixed gender.
After learning about Loki's true sexual orientation, Marvel fans took to social media to express their excitement over the character being gender-fluid and the fact that it also coincides with Pride Month. Check out some of the reactions below:
This stunning new development in Loki's story shouldn't come as a surprise though as recent iterations of Loki have turned the character from a straight man into a pansexual. Now, it'll be interesting to see how his gender fluidity comes into play in the MCU or if Marvel Studios actually plans to address it in the future but expect the God of Mischief to have a few tricks up his sleeve. I'm pretty sure this one won't go unaddressed.
