It's no secret that the unprecedented success of The Mandalorian paved the way for Lucasfilm to further expand their Star Wars universe and explore untold stories from the franchise's past post-prequel and original trilogies, potentially leading up to the events of the ever-so-divisive sequel trilogy.

The hit Disney+ series pretty much gave birth to more spin-off projects following its second season that will more than likely satisfy fans for a number of years to come. So far, we already have shows like Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett, and Rangers of the New Republic and apparently, Lucasfilm is really serious about expanding the "Mandoverse" as a new project featuring two Star Wars icons from the animated universe is reportedly in the works.

According to Kessel Run Transmissions, Lucasfilm is secretly working on a spin-off series that would be headlined by Star Wars Rebels characters Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger. Host Cory Van Dyke didn't spill much about the project but he teases that it's "coming out very soon" on Disney+. Of course, like any other rumor, take this one with a grain of salt. Check out the podcast here:

the iconic Star Wars villain's grand arrival in the Mandoverse is almost guaranteed as Thrawn was previously teased in The Mandalorian Season 2's episode which featured the live-action debut of Ahsoka Tano. Now, it'll be interesting where the character makes his debut. Naturally, the general belief is that Thrawn could turn up in Ahsoka but this new rumor surrounding him and Ezra raises a lot of questions.

Meanwhile, speaking of the Mandoverse, The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin production next month.
