Justice League Trilogy Would Have Seen Lois Lane Give Birth to Bruce Wayne's Child

To most fans of the DC Extended Universe, director Zack Snyder is a true visionary, and although his film offerings like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were met with mixed reactions, the Justice League director is still lauded by his supporters for walking to the beat of his own drum and not taking the route DC's "rival" Marvel has been utilizing.

Apparently, Zack had major and not to mention controversial plans for his supposed Justice League trilogy that may no longer be fulfilled. According to leaked storyboards from the planned DCEU sequels (via CBR), Justice League 2 & 3 would have featured the stunning revelation that Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane had a brief romantic relationship that led to Clark Kent's former flame giving birth to Wayne's son.

The said leaks, first posted by Twitter user @Spn_Darkness have been taken down from his page but during an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Snyder pretty much confirmed that his plan all along was for Lois and Bruce to have a romantic relationship.

Explaining why he wanted to do it, Snyder said: "The intention was that Bruce fell in love with Lois and then realized that the only way to save the world was to bring Superman back to life. So he had this insane conflict, because Lois, of course, was still in love with Superman. We had this beautiful speech where [Bruce] said to Alfred: ‘I never had a life outside the cave. I never imagined a world for me beyond this. But this woman makes me think that if I can get this group of gods together, then my job is done. I can quit. I can stop.' And of course, that doesn't work out for him."

I honestly don't know what to feel about it but it would've been interesting, to say the least. Personally speaking, I feel like the potential pairing of Wayne and Lane would only make things more complicated between Batman and Superman but then again, Snyder wants to do things that are out of the norm. Now, his vision for the Justice League trilogy and the entire Snyderverse becoming realized still remains to be seen but the success of the Snyder Cut could play a huge factor in fulfilling his plans.

Zack Snyder's Justice League hits HBO Max on March 18.
