The Suicide Squad pretty much proved that there's so much chemistry between Margot Robbie and director James Gunn and it isn't all that surprising how the two have expressed their openness to do another DC project in the future. Just recently, Warner Bros. and DC Films have confirmed that Gunn will return to helm more projects for the DC Extended Universe and while we're still not sure what project that Marvel director will be helming, a lot of fans are unanimous with their desire to finally see the previously scrapped Gotham City Sirens happen.

With Margot being so adamant about bringing Poison Ivy to the DCEU and the possibility of Catwoman also joining the franchise in the future, Gotham City Sirens is definitely a project Gunn could sink his teeth into. However, it doesn't look like GCS is on the Guardians of the Galaxy director's list of DC priorities.

Taking to Twitter, James revealed that while he and Robbie have in fact discussed potential projects in the future, Gotham City Sirens isn't part of those discussions, calling it a "non-existent project" after several entertainment sites reported that he will helm the said film. Check out his reaction below:

For sure, Gotham City Sirens is an ideal project for James Gunn to take on but knowing how he chooses his projects, there's a good chance that his next DCEU film will once again revolve around lesser-known characters from the comics. Of course, The Suicide Squad 2 is definitely a possibility but it looks like James has other plans in mind. Whatever his plans are, I have complete faith that he'll once again deliver but I'd be lying if I said that I don't want to see GCS happen because I've been dreaming about it for years now.

The Suicide Squad is now showing in cinemas. It's also available for streaming on HBO Max.
